In our Primary Center, we build a strong foundation for learning and social development. We provide a safe and loving environment where children can explore, discover, and grow. Our kindergarten and first grade curricula includes reading and writing workshops, mathematics, science, social studies, and the use of technology. We develop social skills by peer interaction and by teaching conflict resolution. We use hands-on, child-centered activities that develop self-esteem and skills necessary to successfully transition to second grade.
We are so excited to immerse ourselves into reading and practicing our addition and subtraction facts! Our field trip to Tanaka Farms is always such an adventure! Our classroom smells amazing when we cook Stone Soup during Thanksgiving! In the spring, we always look forward to our intriguing Kidspace Museum field trip. We enhance the knowledge learned in the classroom with hands-on activities about forces at work. Every morning, we sing and listen to many different composers, but our favorite is Vivaldi's, “The Four Seasons.” Throughout the year, we learn to say a few words in many different languages, celebrating our diverse cultural backgrounds.
