Fourth Grade kicks off with a big bang as we learn about the stars, planets, and the universe, exploring and participating in new experiences at Astrocamp! Students will create their own rover model in the Mission to Mars science project. “Walk Through California” provides an exciting, interactive overview of California history and geography. Creating a salt dough map of California will provide a visual representation of the state’s four regions. Rancho Day and Gold Rush Day create engaging learning activities for lasting memories. Through field trips, students will look at crystals and minerals, take a tour of the San Juan Capistrano Mission, travel to the Westward Movement at Knott’s Berry Farm, and visit General Banning’s home, a pioneer of communication and transportation in Los Angeles. As a class, we will develop understanding and appreciation of cultures in our Heritage Celebration and learn from other key Californian figures through biographical research and the Living Museum.
