Flingala put the Fun in Fundraising!
The Peninsula Heritage School Community had a wonderful evening at our fundraiser, Flingala, on March 4th, 2023.
Parents, teachers, and PHS supporters mingled, danced, participated in a lively auction, enjoyed the many casino games, and ate and drank merrily while raising funds to get artificial turf on our field. Thank you to all who attended and to our Parent Association for putting together this amazing event!

A New Era of Play and Learning: Our New Playground
We are thrilled to announce that we have opened our brand-new playground with a ribbon-cutting ceremony during our Friday assembly and students couldn't be more excited! This long-awaited project has finally come to fruition and it’s a dream come true for our students.
From the traditional swings and slides to a modern jungle gym, this playground is a place where students can play, explore, and make memories that will last a lifetime. The jungle gym provides endless opportunities for children to climb, crawl, and use their imagination, while the swings and slides will bring joy and laughter to students of all ages.
The new playground is not just a place for fun and games, but also a place for learning. It provides an opportunity for students to develop their coordination and balance and also helps to improve their cognitive skills as they navigate the different challenges presented by the equipment. Studies have shown that play is an important part of a child's development and a well-designed playground can provide a fun and engaging environment for children to learn and grow.
This new playground is a testament to our school community's commitment to providing the best possible resources and opportunities for our students. In the past few years, we have also enhanced:
* Our classrooms with new Smartboards and furniture that facilitates group work and collaboration
* Our website with a new layout and content that better helps current and prospective parents learn more about our school
* Our Elementary and Middle School campuses with turfed areas making more space for students to relax and play
* And so much more!
We are proud of these new additions to our school and the positive impacts they will have on the students and the community for years to come.
Future Entrepreneurs!
Our sixth grade class pitched their business ideas Shark Tank style! Each student came up with creative inventions and determined how much money they need to borrow from the “sharks” and how much equity of their company they were willing to give up. They had fun and learned about public speaking, entrepreneurship, valuations, equity, and more! Before their presentations, a former producer of Shark Tank, Ian Sambor, met with the class via Zoom to give advice and talk about the show!
