Third Grade

Name anything about 3rd grade and I love it. Multiplication facts? Love them. Writing in cursive? Love it. Picking up horse manure at Rawhide Ranch? Yes, it happens and I love that, too. Seeing eyes of confusion and fear turn into eyes of wonder and pride? I love that the most. It is a year when children grow so quickly I catch myself wearing high heels by winter break. Third grade is also a year when students become aware of their own independent thoughts and the importance of them in our class community. It is a blessing to be working with children, since children are indeed our future. I have learned invaluable lessons from my students and I take these lessons with me to every new classroom. I am looking forward to continuing my career at Peninsula Heritage School, where I will meet new students who inspire and teach me in all facets of life.

I first aspired to be a teacher when I was in the second grade and have actively pursued the goal from that point on. I attended parochial schools, where I was voted “Most Likely To Become a Teacher” in both eighth grade and as a senior in high school. I continued my education at the University of Southern California where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education as well as my teaching credential. Over the years I have tutored students of all ages, volunteered in classrooms, and worked for various educational programs for children in elementary schools.

I am a local resident of Rolling Hills Estates, born and raised just a few blocks away from the school. My family includes my parents, younger brother, and younger sister, in addition to our American Lab Brodie. I enjoy reading, the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
