For the past four years I have had the sheer pleasure and delight of working as a teaching artist, and collaborating with the multitalented Peninsula Heritage School staff in our dynamic Performing and Visual Arts programs. We are proud to say that we have been honored in receiving an award from The Character Education Partnership for our grade level Character Assemblies. We also present the Fifth Grade Musical, “History Comes Alive,” and the Fourth Grade play on California History. Our Family Day performance in the fall is a rich tradition, as well as our Open House musical celebration in the spring. All of our productions are something that the school and the Performing and Visual Arts Departments are very proud of.

I started my theatrical training in Long Beach, California at Carole’s Dance Theatre, Long Beach City College and Cal State Long Beach. Mrs. Carole saw my passion as a performer and introduced and encouraged me to teach as a High School student, and I have had an affinity for teaching ever since.
I have had the good fortune as a performer to have many of my dreams come true. I started my performing career working at Disneyland and other Theme Parks. I have been a member of The Screen Actors Guild and The American Federation of Television and Radio Artist for over thirty years. A highlight for me was performing in the classic movie musical, Grease and Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, also on the Fiftieth Annual Academy Award Show, various films, television, T.V. commercials and the theatre. I have found that working behind the scenes as a director and choreographer is equally as thrilling. I am a certified Teaching Artist from The Los Angeles County Commission for the Arts. I am also the performing arts trainer for After-School University, a program that trains program directors and staff in after school curriculum.

I have happily been Mrs. Buck Wilcox for over 24 years. We have a lovely daughter, Simonah, who is in High School and is also very involved in the arts. I feel very privileged to be sharing in the creation of childhood memories with all of the children, families and staff at Peninsula Heritage School.
