I am thrilled to be the Junior Kindergarten teacher at Peninsula Heritage’s ECC Campus! I think 5 year olds are fabulous. The Junior Kindergartener’s are my favorite age group to work with because everything they do, say, and feel has so much passion and intensity attached to it. In Junior Kindergarten, we put into effect all the skills and knowledge previously learned in preschool. We then build on and refine those skills to provide an easy and confident transition into Kindergarten. We work with each child in all four areas of development; social, emotional, cognitive, and physical by providing developmentally age appropriate activities designed to enhance growth. We encourage creativity and curiosity. We promote the character qualities. We foster a love for learning and celebrate childhood! I was born and raised here in Southern California. I grew up in Lomita and graduated from Narbonne High School. After High School I attended Harbor College where I received an AS degree in Child Development and an AA degree in Liberal Arts. I transferred to Long Beach State where I received a BA in Liberal Studies with an emphasis on Special Education and a minor in Psychology. Teaching is my passion. I have no desire to do anything but work with children, and feel fortunate to be doing something that brings so much joy to my life. |
